TUITION POLICY:
  • An annual registration fee of $35 for 1 student, or $50 for 2 or more children is due at the time of enrollment, or at the time of sign-ups for new students. All tuition is to be set-up and paid as auto-withdrawal only. Full monthly tuition will be drawn automatically on the 5th of each month. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or debit cards with these logos. Return payments are subject to a $30 return fee. A 15% late charge will be assessed on past due accounts. You can also pre-pay and save 10% off for paying for the full year. It is assumed that your enrollment will continue month to month and you are responsible for monthly tuition billed to your account until the school year comes to an end. If you wish to terminate enrollment or withdraw from a class, one month notice is required. You must provide written notice to the office and a Withdrawal Form must be filled out and signed by you by the 5th of the month, to be effective the 5th of the following month. You agree to pay tuition for the classes that you, your son and/or daughter, are enrolled in up until the final cancellation date.
** Please note: Tuition is based on the year (Sept-June) regardless of how many weeks are in a given month. Tuition payments average out to four classes each month. Rates are subject to change without notice.

  • In the event that public schools are closed for inclement weather, Northwest School of Dance classes may offer virtual class participation or an in person option that hosts a virtual teacher.  Parents please use your judgment in bad driving conditions-safety is our first priority. An email or in app notification will be sent in the event of an Emergency Closure. Make-up classes will be offered for these types of canceled classes.

  • Discounts are given on tuition as follows: Multiple Class Discount of 5% off total tuition (for 2 or more classes, does not include ACP), Family/Multiple Student Discount of 5% off total tuition (for 2 or more students, does not apply to ACP).

ATTENDANCE POLICY:
  • Holidays: Northwest School of Dance will run its regular fall schedule of classes from September 13th-June 18th. Classes will meet regularly on a weekly basis unless otherwise noted. We will observe the following holidays: Thanksgiving Break Nov. 23rd-28th, Winter Break Dec. 20-Jan. 1st, Mid-Winter Break Feb. 21st-26th, Spring Break Apr. 4th-9th, Memorial Day May 30th.  No classes will be held during these dates.

  • Absences/Make-ups: Students who miss a class will have the opportunity to make it up with another similar class within 30 days of absence. Please check with the office to determine the best makeup class for your child and schedule the makeup class.

  • DRESS CODE: These dress codes are enforced. All students should be dressed appropriately for their specific classes. For your convenience, dancewear and dance shoes are available for purchase at the studio.

DRESS CODE

DRESS CODE

Northwest School of Dance maintains a dress code to encourage concentration and a sense of inclusiveness (variations in attire can be distracting and contribute to feelings of inequality). Uniformity in dancewear allows the teachers to assess how well the students are implementing the technique being taught, problems with alignment, and other important aspects of dance training.

  • Students should carry their dancewear, shoes, and other belongings in a dance bag. Please print your child’s name on the bag as well as on all of its contents.

  • Dancewear is to be kept in good repair and laundered on a regular basis.

  • Boys age 10 and older must wear an undergarment called a dance belt, under their tights.

  • Watches, jewelry, and safety pins should not be worn to class.

  • Dance shoes should never be worn outside.

  • Female students should wear their hair tightly secured and styled away from the face; a neat bun is required for all ballet classes.

  •  Students are expected to observe good personal hygiene habits. Deodorant is highly recommended and preferred for students age 9 and older.

SPRING DANCE GALA

An annual production is held in the spring to showcase the hard work and talents of all the students.  This is a full studio recital and it is assumed that all students enrolled in classes will take part in this performance, unless the studio is notified otherwise.  It is a fun opportunity for kids to perform in the dance styles they’ve been practicing all year, and a great opportunity to invite families and friends to come watch your kids dance.  This show is typically held around the third weekend in May and held at the Bremerton High School Performing Arts Center.

*Some classes, such as “Combo” classes, “Pre” classes and others TBD, will only perform on one of the three recital days/times.

WINTER DANCE PRODUCTION

Every December, Northwest School of Dance produces a winter show, titled "A Winter's Tale”.  This is an optional show for students interested, not a full studio production.  It is an original show, written and choreographed by the studio's directors & faculty.  The storyline is a loose culmination of A Christmas Carol and Nutcracker, and follows the story of young girl named Eloisa and her journey to discover the true meaning of the season.  Students interested in participating need to attend one of the audition dates, TBA, (one is held during the summer and one is held mid-September).  Auditions are open to dancers ages 5 1/2 through adult.  The show is held at the Bremerton Community Theatre in mid-December.

DANCER'S AGAINST CANCER BENEFIT GALA

Every year, Northwest School of Dance partners with the Dancers Against Cancer foundation to host a benefit show. Proceeds from this event will benefit dancers, choreographers, and families in the dance industry who have been effected by this disease.  Our studio has been touched by the stories of young dancers who have battled this disease and have found strength and comfort in their craft.  The event is held in the early spring at the Admiral Theater in Bremerton.  The show features dancers ranging in age from 7 to 18 years old from both of Northwest School of Dance’s performance companies; the Clarke Dance Group and the JPB Ballet Company.
